Risk Assessment

OVERVIEW
Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) is an indispensable key and can be considered the most fundamental and effective way to ensure safety and efficiency for all businesses.
In today's competitive environment, occupational safety and work efficiency (KPI: Key Performance Indicator) are two key factors to ensure business success. Therefore, HIRA plays an important role in achieving this goal, helping Vietnamese businesses:
  • Protect the health and lives of workers: HIRA helps identify and eliminate potential hazards in the work environment, thereby reducing the risk of accidents and occupational diseases.
  • Improve operational efficiency: By eliminating hazards, businesses can reduce downtime due to accidents, increase productivity, and save costs.
  • Comply with Vietnamese law: HIRA complies with regulations on occupational safety and health as prescribed in the Labor Law and relevant legal documents.
  • Meet international standards ISO 31000: HIRA is an essential part of the risk management system according to ISO 31000, helping businesses enhance their reputation and competitiveness in the international market.
What is Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment?
HIRA is a systematic process to identify potential hazards in the workplace and assess their level of danger. This process consists of two main steps:
Step 1: Hazard Identification: Use methods such as direct observation, employee interviews, analysis of past accident and incident data, etc. to identify all potential hazards in the workplace.
Step 2: Risk Assessment: Assess the likelihood of occurrence and severity of potential consequences for each hazard. Rank hazards according to risk level and prioritize addressing the highest risk hazards.
Step 3: Provide improvement and enhancement solutions for customers Experts will provide solutions based on the laws, standards, and regulations of the host country and according to the suitability of each customer.
Note: This work involves the Board of Directors' representatives, technical staff, engineers, and experienced experts in various fields of PYP, etc. to ensure a comprehensive HIRA assessment and ensure objectivity and that no hazards or risks are overlooked.
Benefits of HIRA
The application of HIRA brings many benefits to Vietnamese businesses, including:
  • Reducing accidents and occupational diseases: HIRA helps businesses identify and eliminate potential hazards before they can cause harm, thereby reducing the risk of accidents and occupational diseases.
  • Improving morale and productivity: When the work environment is safe, employees will feel more comfortable and secure, thereby improving morale and productivity.
  • Improving corporate image: Businesses that effectively implement HIRA will demonstrate their concern for the health and safety of their employees, thereby enhancing the image and reputation of the business in the eyes of customers and partners.
  • Reducing costs: Accidents and occupational diseases can cause many costs for businesses, including medical costs, compensation costs, equipment repair costs, etc. The application of HIRA helps businesses reduce these costs.
